Formal vs. Informal Help Informal Formal

Janet Forktus

The CR610 Product/Service ID Qualifier within the CR6 - Home Health Care Information segment (Loop 2000E) is required when home health care is related to a specific surgical procedure, the surgery date is know, and the surgical procedure is known. The qualifiers for this field are:

HC - Health Care Financing Adminsistrtion Common Procedural Coding System
(HCPCS) Codes

ID - International Classification of Diseases, 9th Revision, Clinical Modification
(ICD-9-CM) - Procedure

With 5010 positioning for the use if ICD-10-PCS, shouldn't there be a qualifier for this code?

Refer to page 200 of TR3.

The ICD-10 final rule states that the ICD-10 procedures codes are for inpatient hospital procedure coding only. Home Healthcare is not inpatient. The ICD-9 final rule states the same information. The only valid ID is for HCPCS = HC. This will be updated in the next version of the guide.
