Description

Section 1.12.4, section Response to Request Containing Service Level Information, pg. 40, indicates that a UMO is not required to render and return a separate decision for each 2000F loop.
In the 2000F loop, the TRN segment is required to be returned when the loop is returned and the request contained a tracking number at the 2000F level.
In the case where the decision is rendered and returned only at the 2000E level,
the 2000F trace numbers would never be returned. Is this correct?

Response

This issue is explicitly addressed in guide 0050X217. Section 1.12.4 does state that the service level (2000F loop does not need to be returned. In addition, the TRN situational rule in the 2000E loop states "Required when this loop is returned and the request contained a tracking number at this level on the request, or..." As such, when a decision is rendered at the 2000E level and service detail is not returned the 2000F trace numbers would not be returned by the UMO.
